Abortion Procedures
Confirm your pregnancy and get the information you need on all your options.
Your First Step: Pregnancy Evaluation
Abortion is a medical procedure. The specific type of abortion available to you depends on the gestational age of the fetus. Therefore, a pregnancy evaluation is important in your decision-making process.
A pregnancy evaluation will confirm that your pregnancy is viable. Thirty-one percent (31%) of pregnancies end on their own. Since a positive pregnancy test cannot confirm your pregnancy will even continue, we need to perform an ultrasound to confirm viability and gestational age. An ultrasound is the only way to confirm this.
It is also important for you to be screened for STIs. If you have a termination procedure with an untreated STI, it can increase your risk of contracting pelvic inflammatory disease by 25%. This could affect your health and reproductive wellness both now and in the future. We screen for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Your primary care physician can perform a full STI panel.

Types of Surgical Abortions
Surgical abortions are in-clinic procedures to end a pregnancy. Vacuum aspiration and D & E (dilation and evacuation) are the most commonly performed surgical procedures. We do not perform or refer for abortions but will educate you on this and all your options, including adoption and parenting.
